FAQs
I’ve never been in therapy before. What can I expect?
Generally, folks come to therapy once a week and have a set time slot that stays mostly consistent each week. Sessions are about 50 minutes long. The very first visit is what we call an “intake” session and takes about 75-90 minutes. We will initially talk about what brings you to therapy and begin collaborating on some treatment goals. Prior to your intake session, I will ask you to complete some forms via a HIPAA-compliant online portal.
How long does it take to reach my treatment goals?
This depends widely on the nature of the issue that brings you to therapy. It also depends on myriad other factors such as your trauma history and support network, just to name a couple. You may find that as you progress in therapy, your goals may shift.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. In-person and virtual sessions are available.
Are you in my insurance network?
I am in network with commercial-only UnitedHealthcare UHC | UBH, including Optum and United Medical Resources (UMR). I cannot accept Medicaid or Medicare plans.
I am out of network for all other insurance plans. I can assist you with finding out if you have out of network benefits under your insurance plan. I use a platform called Thrizer to help clients access their out-of-network benefits. I am also happy to provide you with a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance company privately.
What are the fees?
Intake sessions are $145; individual sessions are $130. Fees are due at time of session.
